ولد في اسبانيا وفي جيل السابعة انتقل للعيش في ميامي وهناك بدأ بتلحين الاغاني لنفسه والكثير من شركات الانتاج الكبيرة رفضت اعماله في بداية طريقه.
الانطلاقة الفنية
ملك الرومانسية في العالم اللاتيني
في عام 95 انتجت له شركة غير مشهورة اول البوماته الغنائية باللغة الاسبانية وبيع باكثر من 6 ملايين نسخة في العالم وبذلك اعتبر ملك الرومانسية في العالم اللاتيني.
الالبوم دفع بانريكي الى للحصول على جائزة الجرامي عام 97 كافضل عرض لاتيني، حصل على الاسطوانة البلاتينية من "فيريت" بعدها في العام 98 حصل على الاسطوانه الذهبية، وفي العام نفسه اعلنت مجلة "بيبول" انه اكثر الرجال اثارة في العالم.
في سنة 99 قدم اول اسطوانه له باللغة الانجليزية واسمها "انريكي" ولاقت نجاح منقطع النظير، في العام 2000 قدم اول ديو له مع المغنية الشهيرة ويتني هيوستون، وتواصل لقاء النجم الوسيم بالمشاهير ففي العام 2001 قدم اسطوانته "هروب" التي وصلت المرتبة الثانية في لائحة المبيعات العالمية وفي اغنية الالبوم الاكثر نجاحا "بطل- هيرو" قدم لنا كليب مميز الى جانب الممثلة الحسناء جنيفر لاف هيويت والممثل ميكي رورك.
انركي لم يحب ادارة الاعمال التي كان يدرسها في الجامعة وهو يعتبر الموسيقى والفيديو كليب والتمثيل احب الامور إلى قلبه: "لست ممن يحب ان يصبح رجل اعمال. افضل الغناء والتمثيل وتصوير الفيديو كليب وزيارة دول العالم والعودة اليها بعد مدة للوقوف على الذكريات"
زواجه السري
مع زوجته انا كورنيكوفا
تزوج العام الماضي، من بطلة التنس الروسية السابقة انا كورنيكوفا في حفل زفاف سري في المكسيك، وهو يكبرها بست سنوات. لقد تزوجا في حفل صغير وسري لم يحضره سوى افراد العائلة وعدد قليل جدا من الاصدقاء المقربين. ولم يسمح لاحد بان يعرف بزواجهما.
وقالت مجلة "يو اس ويكلي" الاميركية ان كورنيكوفا ظهرت في حفل خيري في بوكا راتون بفلوريدا بعد الحدث باسبوع وقد وضعت في اصبعها خاتم الزواج. وقالت نجمة التنس السابقة ان "انريكي رائع. وكل شيء رائع. لقد تزوجنا"
وكانت نجمة التنس الجميلة قد التقت بالمغني الشهير عندما ظهرت عام 2002 في فيديو كليب لاغنية "اسكيب- هروب"، واعتزلت انا التنس بعد ان توطدت علاقة صداقتها مع انريكي وقبل زواجهما..

يبدو أن اختلاف المزاج الغنائي بين خوليو وابنه انريكي يفرض نفسه أيضا في العلاقات العائلية. فها هو خوليو يؤكد أن جميع أولاده يعيشون استقلالية كاملة عن أبيهم بل إنهم "لا يسمعون كلامي على الإطلاق" على حد قوله.
واعتبر أن تقديم ثنائي غنائي يجمعه مع ابنه قد يكون أمرا قابلا للتحقيق، ولكن بعد مائة سنة من الآن. لانريكي اشقاء هم خوليو جونيور وهو مغن بدوره، وله أخت غير شقيقة هي الحسناء ايزابيل المعروفة بعلاقاتها الغرامية المتعددة.
انريكي لن يغني دويتو مع نجوم شباب اخرين ولكنه شعر بمتعة كبيرة عند غنائه مع ويتني هيوستن، وعند تمثيله إلى جانب انطونيو بانديراس وسلمى حايك وجوني ديب ومع تارنتينو وميكي رورك في فيلم "كان يا مكان في المكسيك".
وأكد على انها تجربة جميلة قائلا: "عرض علي المشاركة في الفيلم، قرأت الدور واحببته فمثلته من باب المتعة. لن اصبح ممثلاً، وانما ساعود إلى السينما بادوار بسيطة. لست من النوع الذي يحب المسؤولية التي يتطلبها الدور الكبير". ولفت إلى أن "انطونيو رائع وأنا معجب به، كذلك بقية الممثلين".
